Cheryl Rayl, LPC-S, MAC is the owner of Grace Counseling Center, a full-service intensive outpatient program, with two locations in Lewisville and Ft. Worth, Texas. She has been in the behavioral health field for over 25 years and has experience working with clients from struggling adolescents to the elderly. Cheryl is professionally trained to treat individuals suffering from debilitating mental health disorders while also providing care to those battling the disease of addiction. Cheryl has counseled clients in various settings, treating individuals, couples and families, and facilitating a myriad of group therapy sessions focused on numerous psychological issues. She also meets the qualifications for Substance Abuse Professionals according to DOT regulations and is an approved evaluator for the Professional Recovery Network.

Cheryl has a passion for helping others, and this passion carries over into her role as a consultant for behavioral health providers. She is dedicated to helping new businesses become successful in their endeavors and has helped launch numerous businesses across the U.S. Cheryl guides these trailblazing professionals down their own unique paths, enabling them to find their niche and develop the skills needed to help transform minds and heal hearts. Cheryl supervises the Licensed Professional Counselor Interns and oversees the care provided by all staff at Grace Counseling Center.

Awstin specializes in strategic analyses, which combines financial analysis, business strategy, marketing strategy, and overall operational services to provide consumers with dynamic strategies to meet their business goals. He creates individualized pro forma analyses that highlight opportunities for improvement and opportunities for strategic development.

Awstin has experience accrediting entities with Joint Commission under both the hospital and behavioral health manuals. He has assisted entities with State action plans and has experience with CMS accreditation standards. Awstin also has considerable experience in grant writing, with his most recent grant being awarding a $10,000,000, 5-year contract by the state of Oklahoma to a substance abuse treatment facility in Texas.

Awstin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from UNT, a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Texas A&M - Commerce, a second Master’s Degree in Business Administration from TWU, and a third Master’s Degree in Health Systems from TWU. Awstin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).

Lauren is a person in long-term recovery with a heart for the recovering person and the services providers who support them. Her passion is to build programs that provide the best grounds for growth to the staff and their clients. Lauren’s personal and professional experience is in the implementation, training, and design of recovery residence programs. She has served men, women, and adolescents in these programs. During her professional career, Lauren has developed sober living programs, cultivated team-oriented atmospheres for staff, and created individualized support for clients. Developing these aspects within a company will enhance the quality of treatment for the client affected by substance use disorder and help their staff become leaders with the tools to serve their populations well.

Lauren is currently pursuing a degree as a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor and a degree in Business Entrepreneurship. Lauren has worked with notable companies in the recovery support field serving individuals in need and building her capabilities and experience.

Steve Kelly

Rev. Steve Kelly, M.A., M.Div. is a private practice therapist who specializing in working with those suffering with grief and loss, emptiness, loss of direction and focus, as well as families struggling with the ravages of addiction. Steve’s passion for addiction grew out his growing concern for the suffering of addicts and those who love them and the desire to provide a new way of living that offers honesty, integrity, authenticity, and a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God. Steve has a heart for those struggling and suffering to find hope, direction, and meaning for their lives. Because of his extensive training and experience he enables others to find their voice, their strength, their passion and their hope where once there was none. He has done extensive work with clients suffering trauma and recognizes that the hard work must come before the healing.

Most recently, before entering private practice full time, he was the spiritual counselor at Sunspire Behavioral Health Texas, a residential treatment facility for drug and alcohol abuse. Prior to his clinical work, Steve was in pastoral ministry for over twenty years. Steve’s knowledge and experience of spirituality and his knowledge of addiction allow him to bring to the table a unique set of skills that enable him to provide evidenced based, clinical treatment of addiction as well as grounding recovery as a spiritual way of living. Steve has presented concepts of addiction, recovery, and spirituality to community groups, churches, mental health professionals, clergy, attorneys, and families of alcoholics and addicts. Rev. Kelly was recently awarded the Sierra Tucson Spirit award which is given by mental health professionals to a peer that has made an outstanding contribution in the field.

Steve attended seminary at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He also holds a Masters in Substance Abuse Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Steve is also currently a CSAT.
