Rev. Steve Kelly, M.A., M.Div. is a private practice therapist who specializing in working with those suffering with grief and loss, emptiness, loss of direction and focus, as well as families struggling with the ravages of addiction. Steve’s passion for addiction grew out his growing concern for the suffering of addicts and those who love them and the desire to provide a new way of living that offers honesty, integrity, authenticity, and a deeper, more meaningful relationship with God. Steve has a heart for those struggling and suffering to find hope, direction, and meaning for their lives. Because of his extensive training and experience he enables others to find their voice, their strength, their passion and their hope where once there was none. He has done extensive work with clients suffering trauma and recognizes that the hard work must come before the healing.
Most recently, before entering private practice full time, he was the spiritual counselor at Sunspire Behavioral Health Texas, a residential treatment facility for drug and alcohol abuse. Prior to his clinical work, Steve was in pastoral ministry for over twenty years. Steve’s knowledge and experience of spirituality and his knowledge of addiction allow him to bring to the table a unique set of skills that enable him to provide evidenced based, clinical treatment of addiction as well as grounding recovery as a spiritual way of living. Steve has presented concepts of addiction, recovery, and spirituality to community groups, churches, mental health professionals, clergy, attorneys, and families of alcoholics and addicts. Rev. Kelly was recently awarded the Sierra Tucson Spirit award which is given by mental health professionals to a peer that has made an outstanding contribution in the field.
Steve attended seminary at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. He also holds a Masters in Substance Abuse Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Steve is also currently a CSAT.
